Welcome to A.P.I.S.C.
Until the mid 1990s when Albert Park Indoor Sports Centre Melbourne commenced operation in the Pit Buildings, indoor soccer and indoor netball in Melbourne were mainly played in indoor cricket centre’s within nets. When the Centre opened management decided to dispense with the nets and play futsal, the international version of indoor soccer – and full size open court Netball.
Since the first six teams on a Monday night at Albert Park both social netball and futsal have grown so much in popularity that nearly 500 teams are now registered with Albert Park and its associated venues throughout Melbourne, at Richmond, Brunswick, Princess Hill (Carlton), Elwood and South Yarra. Albert Park recognises that its players are amateurs and play for social and fitness reasons. Competitions are held nightly from Sunday to Thursday inclusive. New to 2015 APISC will be organising Social Dodgeball. Mixed teams will duck, weave, dive and catch their way through the fun that is Dodgeball.
APISC also provides junior programs. With junior futsal on Friday after school, Netball competitions and ANZ Net-Set-Go clinics on Saturdays there is plenty for the young ones.
